Personal ProfileDezi Wang (born June 27, 1927) is a Chinese petrologist. He was born in Taixing, Jiangsu. He graduated from the Department of Geology at Nanjing University in 1950. In 1997, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a professor and doctoral advisor in the Department of Earth Sciences at Nanjing University and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Geological Journal of China Universities. He once held positions such as Vice President of Nanjing University, Dean of the School of Earth Sciences, Convener of the Geological and Geophysical Sciences Review Group of the State Council's Academic Degrees Committee, Vice President of the Geological Society of China, Chairman of the Magmatic Rock Professional Committee of the Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry Society, and Director of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He was also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nanjing University—Natural Sciences and has received the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ministry of Education.
